Poor address data increases costs unnecessarily, can lead you to lose contact with valuable donors, or simply annoy those you need to support your organisation. Even where address records have been diligently kept in the past, external changes (such as Royal Mail postcode changes) can cause your data to slowly decay. The situation can often be complicated where data has been transferred between different computer systems, where organisations have merged, or reorganised or simply where staff or procedures have changed.
